Here is a response by my friend Milan Shamsuddeen Beeru on Seth's question- what do you think matters the most in the coming year?

What matters the most? A deadly question I must say. It leaves alot to perception of each individual who answers it. To a selfish person it is him or what he holds dear that matters the most. To the opposite kind it would be others or something worldly which matters the most.

What matters the most for me? They say and I quote "A picture is worth a 1000 words". Looking at the world right now I wonder the number of people who have spoken thousands of words to draw this picture.

What if the few amongst us start modifying the picture drawn. Make it look like the green, the blue or whatever colour we want to be surrounded by. Anything except the red. In the movie, The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers, when Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas are chasing the Orcs who got their friends, Legolas says that, "The sun shines red, There has been blood spilt tonight" (forgive if there are any mistakes). This got me thinking, how many of us have seen the sight of a red sun? I have seen lots. Not sharing examples as you do live in the same world as I do.

So what if we start painting a picture, if not for us, atleast for a bright future which is not the colour red. I think enough blood has been shed by our forefathers and us to make Earth a better living place. So lets start making one. Change the picture we have painted. That matters the most to me...
