Appropriate technology

I am amazed at how well Grassroots has understood the use of appropriate technology to empower their target community.

They are helping people build bio-gas plants to control afforestation and so women don't have to go in search of firewood everyday and in their spare time they knit sweaters which are marketed by Grassroots.

Their sanitation project uses the least water possible and is so sustainable that each project will last them 100 years!

Their housing project uses local products mainly which also gives employment to many of their locals

Its amazing to see how they understand the needs of the people and the offering of the region! Appropriate technology is the mantra here!
